Comparing the Implants Part Two: The All-Arounder…Universal Implants V0.81
14 Nov 2010 9 Comments
in How To
Last time, I reviewed the implants that have become my standard, the Lola’s, because I do love their appearance. But when it comes to all around versatility and value, it’s very very hard to argue against the Universals. I will still insist, that for my taste, the Lolas are the better looking boobs, but that’s because I’m a bit biased to a natural look. Now I know that sounds odd in a discussion of implants, but it is what it is, at least for me.
That said, the Universals are good-looking boobies, no question about that. And the new v 0.81′s, whjich were released about a month ago, have much to recommend them…and a few things to thumbs down as well.
The Downsides
I’ll begin with this: the noise some of you have heard on the Implant Nation group chat is for the most part…bunk. Let me deal with a few of the criticisms…and add a few of my own.
First, vague statements that the v0.5 version that preceded this newest product was “perfect” are just silly. The very same things people are typically having problems with now existed in the 5s. To wit: difficulty coloring skins and getting weird colors.
Folks, let’s get this squared away once and for all: hand tinting ANY of the major boobies, INs, eBoobs, and Lolas, is a dicey proposition. You can get close, but honestly, if you are really having major problems either seek out someone who does custom skins, or a very skilled tinter, or, get a new body skin. And even then, I can promise you, that depending on the light, they will at times not look perfectly matched.
Second, delivery problems. Well, that has been an issue from time to time with some INs. But the product itself can’t be maligned for that.
Now to more substantive problems…and there are a few.
First and foremost, the version I have refuses to display “fluid,” i.e, cum, on the breasts…instead I get another bra! This happens both with stock and with custom tops, so it appears to be a problem directly related to the new product.
Second, the boob sizes have changed. I am not sure why this is, but you used to be able to get down to under 1900 cc, and I used to standardize at around 2000. Now, 2400 cc seems to be about what 2000 was. Odd, and mildly annoying.
Third, the built-in tops are pretty uninspired but they are a good feature and can be used with simple, foundational garments in a pinch. But they’re hardly the stuff of dreams. This version does include set of “regular” tanktops and bras, which are worn like any other “regular” top, but with all due respect to the developer, Bart Seymour: leave the clothing designs to people who know how to make clothes. Not your forte, to say the least…Ladies, you can safely dispense with the tanks…you may want to keep a couple of the bras around, because they do match up pretty well with the built-in bras, but don’t count on these garments for a big night out…they scream “cheap”!
Finally, the HUD remains one of the best parts of the Universals…but why the heck are there two tabs, Security and Options, that seem to have no purpose? Puzzling.
The Upsides
Where to begin…the new Universals include some truly cool new things and the best of the old favorite tools are still there.
The most improved, and finally useful, tool is the pop-up menu that has controls for outfitting, bounce (which remains a weak area), milking, size, security, BDSM and excitement, the latter three of which I want to put special focus on.
Security
The new menu adds the ability to add users or have open access to all the features of your boobs. This feature alone will get a lot of the girls pretty excited. But use caution: when I say ALL features, I mean it. This includes sizing and the new BDSM feature…So if you don’t want a stranger making your boobs the size of Everest, and you’d prefer not to be dragged hither and yon with no control, then make sure you DON’T enable open access.
BDSM
A nice feature for those who like to be leashed, well, specifically, leashed at the nipples. You can allow yourself to be leased to a person, assuming you’ve enabled open access or picked a specific person, or to an object. It’s easy to use. As you can see here, my friend has taken advantage of giving her open access.
Excitement Menu
This little feature is, again, most useful if someone else is working it. It produces some simple, but pretty good text, like “So and so is doing such and such to” you. I’m not a fan of canned text but I know many people enjoy it…and it’s there so…
The Bottomline
I continue to maintain that Universals are the best boobs if you need to be able to change from a custom top to naked and back in a hurry. They are GREAT for the stage. They still offer a tremendous number of basic shapes and the skin selections are quite good, but again, absolutely perfect skin matches are best left to a pro who can either color for you OR who can provide a custom skin match.
As a designer, I can say that Universals and Lolas are the easiest to work with, at are fairly priced at $800.
They DO look like breast implants, and I do know that many of you reading this really want that look. You can’t go wrong with these if that’s your goal and in the smaller volumes that look fairly “natural”. No one is going to confuse them Lolas, which continue to be the most natural looking boobs, in my opinion. But Universals are extremely versatile, easy to use and are very popular for many good reasons.
You can find them at the main store in Meerkat.

About These Reviews
A few caveats here. No one is paying me to write this review. I’ll hurt some feelings, but that’s how it is. This is my opinion based on a lot of use of all three products, including designing for them. I base all of it on personal experience and on the reaction I get from both men and women.
In all the photos in this series, the implants are attached at the spine. I doubt this matters much, but full disclosure…we’ll talk about attachment points in a later post…
All photos are shot in midday light with no retouching. All garments are from our store, Whimsy’s Closet (shameless plug).
Last and maybe most important: I use Laqroki skin and “Sweet Lights” face lighting.

Striped Dresses and Hot Bikinis!
10 Sep 2010 1 Comment
We’ve launched two major new items : A very hot striped dress outfit with side cutouts and an awesome sculpty skirt, and a series of bikinis in several colors and with national themes.
You’ll find them all at Whimsy’s Closet in Pero and at the Store on Xstreet/Marketplace
This slideshow requires JavaScript.
The Striped Dresses include an awesome sculpty skirt, a prim skirt and matching panties. Booby top appliers for Universals, eBoobs and Lolas will also be in the box. They are priced at 99L for a single outfit, 249L for the fatpack of all three colors, pink/black, red/black, and purple/black. The “regular” versions will be out very soon.
Sculpty skirts present an interesting dilemma for designers and retailers. On the one hand, they are far more natural looking then “system” skirts and they beat prim skirts hands down. On the other, they look their best if you use the “no butt” trick.
Like any sculpty, when you move, it is likely that your upper leg will briefly show through, though a well designed skirt keeps this to a minimum. The real issue is “behind.” Now, our sculpty skirts are modifiable and stretchable, so if you’re skilled at doing this, have at it, otherwise your butt cheeks will show through the back. We work to minimize this with a matching system bottom, but honestly, if you want to look perfect, do the “no butt” thing, i.e., in appearance, take your butt size to ZERO. Trust me, unless you WANT to show a large bottom, this is the way to go…frankly, it’s the way to go with ordinary system skirts, and you will still have lots of junk in your trunk. Give it a try.

Diamond Cut Bikinis
It’s always summer somewhere in SL, but as the season ends in the northern hemisphere we’ve decided to price our newest “Diamond Cut” bikinis at the wonderfully low price of just $49L each. These kinis come in three basic colors: pink, white, and gold, and for you patriotic types out there, we’ve added national colors for the USA, the UK, Australia, Germany, and Canada with booby top appliers for Universals (v0.5 and v.81), Lolas, and eBoobs. They’re all show stoppers! (Regular versions will be out soon)
These are very, very high cut and tight in the bottoms, and not for shy types. But a little backside “pear” isn’t such a terrible thing, is it? hehe.
These DCBs, exclusively ours, posed an interesting design challenge for our “busty” line: matching the very skinny base top straps with the straps on the booby top. Many were the hours spent getting them to line up just right. Let us know how we did!
Like all our products, these designs were inspired by my boss and mate, the inimitable Whimsy Warrhol, whose philosophy is that sexy clothes are clothes that you can wear anywhere, and still turn heads, without spending ridiculous sums.
I think I’ll ask for a raise now…
Reviewing the Implants: Lolas
21 Aug 2010 Leave a Comment
in How To
As a clothing maker and a dancer, and because of market demands, I’ve had the opportunity now to extensively test out all three of the major brands used by our community.
I’ll start off by saying that all of the Big Three (pun intended) have disadvantages and strengths. You want great value for the price? eBoobs, hands down. You want a “Ferrari”? Superior appearance but oh my the hassle? Lolas, the most beautiful boobs in SL, bar none. Want ease of use and excellent choices? Implant Nation.
That’s right. You can’t really go wrong with ANY of the the great makers out there today. But there is no “perfect” choice.
In this first part of my series of reviews, we’ll take a look at the most beautiful, and brutal, implants on the market today.
Lolas – The Sports Car of Implants
They are expensive at 1100$L. They are the least flexible when it comes to top changes. The stock clothing that comes with them is limited, albeit interesting. Up and downsizing is mediocre. The extras are minimal and skin coloring is mediocre. So what’s to like about Lolas? (Go here for the Lola’s Store)
They are beautiful, pure and simple. The best analogy I can think of when describing Lolas are that they remind me of high end sports cars. They look great and they attract a crowd. But like a sports car, they can be maddening to use and they need a lot of attention if you want the most out of them.
Let’s look at how they compare visually. Universals are on the left, eboobs the center, Lolas on the right.
The Pros
In my opinion, great implants in real life don’t like “implants” at all. Done by a truly skilled doctor they simply look like very large breasts, not rocks or balloons. You can absolutely create a very natural, big, look both eBoob naturals and with Implant Nation’s (INs). But you need to be very careful about positioning and the rotation of the boobs.
Now I do realize that some girls do like the obvious implant look. So do lots of guys. If that’s you, Lola’s are not going to make you happy.
Then too, if you love truly enormous hooters, you’re much better off with eBoobs or INs. Lola’s just don’t look that great if you want to supersize.
But if you want a look that very very closely mirrors what naturally large boobies like like in RL. These are the ones. They fit the body almost exactly like either very large natural or very well done implants do on a breathing human being. They ARE beautiful in shape and in sizes that would likely be double EE or even FF in the real world. Bigger then that and they start to look dumb.
Enough gushing.
The Cons
Lolas are expensive, but that’s not what really bugs me about them.
I can make a very strong case for my opinion that NO other implants can handle a booby top as well as Lolas. Nice tops look fantastic on them. It’s when you take that top off that the trouble begins.
Lolas are, bar none, the worst implants when it comes to removing and replacing a top. Yes, if you stick to the stock tops that come with them, you can switch them off and on without problem and I know quite a few girls who do just this. But how boring can you get? I want to wear the latest tops, not some default item. You certainly can wear “custom tops” with Lolas or I wouldn’t bother designing for them. But my oh my, they’re a pain in the ass when you need to put a custom top back on after you’ve removed it, say during a moment of passion.
I’m used to the ease of change with INs. Thru the HUD, you simply take off your top and put it back on. Doesn’t matter if it’s stock or store bought. You can’t do that with Lolas. If you remove the top and then try to put it back on via the menuing system, you’ll get one of the stock tops. The only way to put that hot top you just got at Whimsy’s Closet back onto your sexy body is to wear the applier that came with it…and it often takes a few tries to restore it.
Seriously, this stinks, and makes Lola’s virtually useless for the stage. I wear them anyway, but it’s such a PAIN to restore tops that I end up just using the stock clothing. Argggggh!!!!
And Lola’s have another couple of annoying “features”.
For one, if you have happened to change the color of your Lola’s supplied clothing, that color will impact the color of a custom top you’ve just bought. If you run into this, click on the boobs, go to clothing, go to color, and change it white…then put on the custom top. Ridiculous.
The other thing is this…Lolas have a habit of “remembering” what you last wore on that copy of the breasts and, again if you try to put on a new top, you may think you got ripped off because the top will not appear. NO. Here’s the fix: Wear the applier for the new top. Touch the boobies and go to clothing and pic something, like a T-Shirt. Then click the applier…it should then show the new one.
Those complaints (and they’re big ones for me) aside, kudos to the Lola’s developers for including “regular” t-shirts, tank, and bra that match the t-shirt, tank and bra that are part of the boobs themselves. Nice touch. Strangely, they didn’t including a base bikini top to go with the EXCELLENT bikini top that is part of the implants.
Unlike INs, you get ONE shape with Lola’s. That’s not so bad since that shape is so gorgeous. But here’s ANOTHER odd quirk: you really can’t customize positioning the breasts individually. Oh yes, you can position them as a pair, which is far more common, using the usual left/right/up/down and rotate actions once you have them in edit mode. So why am I bitching about the ability (or lack thereof) of positioning each breast seperately? Why does this matter? Well, it matters a LOT if you’re a super stickler for skin matching because you may want to separate the cleavage more, or squeeze more closely together. You can edit the boobs separately to do such things, but the moment you use the Lola’s menu and resize or put on a garment, the boobs will instantly go back to their default locations. A nice fail-safe mechanism for those who shouldn’t be doing such tweaking anyway, but a real annoyance to those of us who want flexibility.
Skin matching is nothing to shout home about. Lolas do come with stock skin matching, which is ok, and you can use a coloring hud to refine your choice…It’s not great, but it’s workable.
Where Lolas REALLY shine however is custom skin matching. If you’re decent with photoshop I believe that Lola skins are the easiest of all three types to get just right. That said, very few girls can do custom matching.
Lola’s don’t have a lot of “extras” like milk and cum spots, but they do come with GREAT nipple rings, nipple bars, and prim nipples. The stock clothing that comes with them, while limited, is quite nice, especially the bra and bikinis.
Bottomline
When all is said and done, would I recommend Lolas? Yes, so long as don’t need to switch tops quickly, you don’t plan on going out with incredibly large boobs and super precise positioning isn’t critical to you. If you can afford them, get them. They’re sports cars, not work horses…keep that in mind and you’ll love them.
And after all my bitching I’ll end with this: these days Lolas are my implants of choice. I adore their look!

The Forgotten Art of Booby Positioning
17 Aug 2010 1 Comment
in How To
One of the more interesting parts of my interview with IN Universals creator Bart Seymour was his discussion about the biggest problems girls seem to have with implants…and positioning was right up there. So to speak!
I was very fortunate when I first began in the Booby Community. A doctor friend of mine who actually works with peeps in RL who get breast augmentation told me as soon as he saw me for the first time that my boobs were in the wrong place. Too high, like many many of us.
Take a look at these pics:
Obviously, personal taste plays a big role in positioning, but if you want your clothes to look better and to present a more natural view check the following things:
1. When looking from the side, do your boobies follow the natural flow of your avis breasts? If not, what’s holding them up?
2. From the front, where your boobies meet your body should be just where the top of the avi’s breasts begin.
By the way, if you do these things, you may find that your skin coloring work is easier too.
Oh, and don’t be afraid to try rotating your boobs downward…again, gravity will not be denied!
